What Size is a Mini Goldendoodle?

When full-grown, our F-1B or F1BB Mini Goldendoodles typically weigh 15 to 30 pounds and stand at a height ranging from 12 to 18 inches. F-1B pups are a mix of 75% Poodle and 25% Golden Retriever, while F-1BB pups are 87.5% Poodle and 12.5% Golden Retriever. At Doodles of NC, we are meticulous in selecting the goldendoodle parents for our breeding program, ensuring that our goldendoodle puppies retain their adorable teddy bear appearance.

Miniature Goldendoodles are versatile dogs that are equally at home snuggling with you on the couch as they are chasing a ball in the yard. They are also highly intelligent, easy to train, and affectionate dogs that love to be around their people.

F1B vs. F1BB — What's the Difference?

We specialize in two generations of Mini Goldendoodle: F1B and F1BB. Both produce the same 15–30 lb size range and the same loyal, affectionate temperament. The difference is in the coat — and for families with allergies, that difference matters.

F1B Mini Goldendoodle — 75% Poodle, 25% Golden Retriever

The F1B is our most commonly placed generation. The coat ranges from wavy to loosely curly, sheds minimally, and is generally well-tolerated by families with mild sensitivities. You get the classic teddy bear look with a manageable, low-maintenance coat.

F1BB Mini Goldendoodle — 87.5% Poodle, 12.5% Golden Retriever

The F1BB is our most allergy-friendly generation. The higher Poodle percentage produces a tighter curl pattern and minimal to no shedding — making it the better fit for families with more significant allergies. Same size, same personality as the F1B. The coat is just closer to a Poodle's.

If you're unsure which generation is right for your family, we're happy to talk through it. We've been matching families to the right puppy for over 13 years.

Is The Mini Goldendoodle A Good Fit For Your Family?

Mini Goldendoodles have a playful, yet gentle nature, and have a reputation for being good with kids. In comparison to larger dogs, Minis are also easier to handle on a leash and are less likely to knock over or play too roughly with small kids and toddlers.

These fun-size dogs are also a good choice for families on the go, as they don't take up much room in a car. Some Mini Goldendoodles are even small enough to fit in an under-seat carrier on a plane.

Miniature Goldendoodles can be slightly more affordable than larger dogs as they eat less food and cost less to board and groom.
